KAI Commuter Will Replace Fleets made in the 1970s ordered by the Jabodetabek & PT KCJ divisions, the previous generation PT INKA's fleet, TM 05's fleet with EA204 Series KRL

[29/1] - We are of course very familiar with the latest KRL belonging to Railink (KAI Bandara), namely the EA203 Series KRL, which is now quite widely used on the Soekarno Hatta Airport Line. This time, its use will soon be wider with plans to replace the KAI Commuter fleet with the EA204 Series KRL.


Based on what was reported by antaranews, KAI Commuter plans to renew their fleet by replacing the Series 05 fleet, the 1970s-made fleet ordered by the Jabodetabek & PT KCJ division, and the previous generation PT INKA-made fleet which is now serving with the newest fleet, the series. EA204. The plan is that the replacement process will begin in stages from next April with a total procurement of a fleet of 25 units, with details of 25 series of 12 train stamformation

The main features of this series of EA204 Series include emergency power supplies for the purpose of LAA interference and duplicated traction equipment to anticipate disturbances, the circuit can move on its own to reach the nearest station, passenger information screens above the door and luggage racks as indicated. The E235 Series fleet on the Yamanote Line has seats approximately 10 mm larger than the JR 205 seats, and the connection of the train chain to the control center system so that train conditions can always be monitored in real time.


In addition, it is also planned to install a traction system with SiC VVVF MITRAC technology developed by the bombardier, installation of wheelchair space at each end of the carriage, installation of air conditioning units with a larger capacity, and also installation of CCTV cameras on each train in this EA204 Series.

Meanwhile, from the operational plan, the new EA204 Series will not only be deployed on the Blue and Central Lines, but will also be deployed on the Brown Line (Duri - Tangerang), Green Line (Tanah Abang - Serpong / Parung Panjang / Maja / Rangkasbitung / Serang / Merak), and the Loop Line (Bogor / Nambo - Angke / Jatinegara).
