KRL EA204 design for KAI Commuter with its newest livery | Skyscrapercity |
[29/1]. Following Railink, KAI Commuter will receive a new EA204 circuit allocation. The EA204 series for the KAI Commuter will begin assembly in April.
Unlike the EA203 Railink, the EA204 KAI Commuter series will be colored with the company's signature white-red-white-black livery. A total of 25 train units will be built, divided into 25 units for the formation of 12 trains. Although technically the same as the one on Railink, there are a number of differences in the EA204 for this KAI Commuter.
For example, the use of a battery as an emergency power source that was implemented by the KAI Commuter for the first time and the seat with a sideways arrangement. The train will later be equipped with a luggage rack, the handrails have been lowered 5 cm for easier access and the seats are 1 cm wider than the previous train. The car interior also has up to 36 digital monitors for various information displays. The window behind the driver's cab has been lowered so the kids can get a better view of the car operator. The temperature of each car is also monitored; the system can predict the number of passengers at the upcoming station and adjust the temperature for passenger comfort. This information is also communicated to smartphone apps, allowing customers to choose which car to drive based on their temperature preferences such as on the JR E235 krl serving on the Yamanote line.
The EA204 series will later replace the krl made in the 1970s ordered by PT KCJ & the Jabodetabek division, krl made by PT INKA from the previous generation, and krl TM 05 which has been serving the KAI Commuter since the 2010s up & down. Unlike the KRL that I mentioned, the EA204 will have 4 doors. The door design is not 3 doors like the KFW I9000 krl but 4 doors like the doors on a former Japanese krl ordered by KAI Commuter.
